About

Sandy Nuttgens  - Mezzo Music Ltd

Over seventeen years of scoring for television projects, including numerous BAFTA and RTS award winners, Sandy has been acknowledged for a “visionary sound palette which reconciles the beating of human hearts with explosive music and electronic crackles.” (Charles Spencer, The Times)

Sandy started his career in independent radio as an engineer and then commercials producer, writing numerous jingles and station idents along the way. A chance meeting with a BBC producer gave him his first break into television, and started a lifelong love of scoring music to picture. He is a multi-award winning broadcast composer, whose work has been broadcast regularly in the UK on the BBC, ITV, Channel4, Sky, Discovery, Channel5, and worldwide on numerous cable channels.

Sandy started Mezzo Music Ltd in 2000, and has built up a team of first class composers and session musicians who he works regularly with. He has a long time collaboration with Spike Scott, and recently added Alexander Parsons to the team. Our flexible studio system allows us to work on both single films and large multi-edit broadcast projects.

Our philosophy is simple. We are absolutely client focussed on providing a fantastic creative music score, on time, on budget, and on the nail. Our scores work…period. We constantly invest in new sounds and pride ourselves on having a real organic quality to the music we produce. We’re also great to work with!

Einstein once said ‘ Life is like a bicycle. You lose balance unless you keep moving forward’. Here at Mezzo Music we never stop moving forward…
